The Chase card is OK but the 25% credit when booking a hotel room using accumulated points doesn’t mean you will get the best rate. I recently tried to book a hotel in Munich, Germany using points and found the rate quoted using points was much higher than the rate I ultimately booked directly with the hotel. Using my Chase points would have been a waste of points. Be sure to compare any rate quoted on the Chase points site to the supplier quote. It may save you money and/or points.

I just opened my card and plan to make the $4,000 purchase on one big item as soon as I get my card in the mail so I can get the bonus of $750. Can I use this bonus of $750 as soon as I make the $4,000 purchase or is there a waiting period?

You can book AA flights with your points through the Chase Ultimate Rewards travel portal. Prices are based on the revenue costs of the flights.

Any advice on getting matched to 100K offer. Just signed up my beautiful partner in points with the 80K offer. We tried in branch sign up (annual fee waived ) on May 13th. It would not let my wife sign up. CSR called IT unit and they were aware of issue. Told to call back once approved. Long story short. Received both annual fee waived and $50 grocery credit. I am being too greedy. Recommend Secure Message or phone request?

In reply to PeteK. When you book online at the Krisflyer website you will receive a 15% discount which brings down the price. Award availability will be spotty especially for saver Singapore suite awards.
